Red Dragon Canoe Club
Member Bill VanKeuren has arranged for our chapter to gather at the historic Red Dragon Canoe Club in Edgewater Park, NJ. They have an interesting collection of boats including 4 four man racing boats: A Walter Dean, a William English, a Thomas Eynon, and a Peterborough. also, a MicMac bark canoe, a Guatemalan dugout made from a solid mahogany log, a Fredrick Rice Adirondack Guide boat, a William Glass one man racing canoe of very early design (1903), a Thomas Eynon single or tandem racing canoe, a Rob Roy type decked sailing canoe, an Old Town HW sponson canoe and an Old Town OTCA poorly restored. Plan to bring some food to share potluck style.

Lake Lenape
We will enjoy a springtime day paddle exploring Lake Lenape in South Jersey. Following the paddle we are invited to Ed & Jennifer’s for a cookout to continue the fun.

Pocono Lake Preserve
On the day paddle we will get out on the water at beautiful Pocono Lake Preserve in Pennsylvania. Chuck Kindt will host this event at a serene lake and a rustic lodge where we can gather after the paddle for some delicious barbeque. See some images from last year’s gathering here. Day Paddles on Pasaic and Wallkill Rivers
Pack a picnic lunch and plan to paddle one or both of these beautiful rivers in North Jersey.

WCHA Annual Assembly
After two years we will again gather with wooden canoe friends from all over the USA and Canada, and even a few paddlers from other faraway lands. The beautiful lakeside campus of Paul Smith’s College in the Adirondacks will provide the perfect setting for the largest event hosted by the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association. Canoe construction, paddling lessons, crafts, group paddles and fun activities for kids make this the perfect getaway for people of all ages. Click here to see images from a past assembly. Canoe friends will gather for a picnic dinner, then paddle into the sunset on lovely Nockamixon Lake at Nockamixon State Park.

Weekend Paddle in Cornwall, NY
Hosted by Jim an Jean Clearwater, we will paddle two different areas in beautiful New York State. The Clearwater property has plenty of room for anyone who wants to pitch a tent and stay overnight, and it is the perfect place for us to gather and share a picnic dinner on Saturday.

Always a club favorite, we will enjoy paddling one of the winding rivers of the Jersey Pine Barrens.

Gifford Pinchot State Park
Weekend fun awaits at the annual four-chapter gathering of canoe enthusiasts at Gifford Pinchot State Park in Pennsylvania. Canoe construction techniques will be taking place inn the pavilion, and we will gather for a pot-luck dinner and a campfire at one of the member’s cabin. Trap Pond State Park, Delaware
A gathering early during the week will provide a bit more solitude at this popular park featuring the northernmost bald cypress swamp in the US. Paddling right through the forest of trees provides a spectacular and unique experience. If camping, reserve your site early – they fill up quickly.
