Susan Christie continues a tradition started by her father Dick Christie, of making beautiful and functional double-blade paddles. Her father designed patterns and documented measurements, and even created unique tools to plane the wood into the desired shape for the paddles. Susan continues the tradition, and has hand made and then donated a double blade paddle to be part of the annual fund-raising auction at the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association annual assembly.
